The favorite light shaper of many portrait and fashion shooters, Elinchrom has introduced the 24" Snaplux Quick-Open Octabox to give time-pressed photographers a modifier that combines the ease and set up speed of umbrellas with the directionality and light quality of a softbox.
One of the defining qualities of this size octabox is focused light output, increased directional control, minimal spill light and significant falloff. Like a beauty dish, there's a crispness to the soft light that adds dimension and facial structure to your subject while tightening the light spread. Like all softboxes, the closer you place the octabox to the subject, the greater a wrap-around quality of light is evident
Elinchrom includes a 30-degree fabric grid to facilitate selective lighting to light areas that you want to and keep light from areas that you don't want illuminated. The softbox has a white interior for soft, neutral-colored output and a removable front diffuser that can be left on as it usually is or removed for a punchy high contrast look. The Snaplux Octabox comes with a bag for storage and transport.
Snaplux speed rings are required and sold separately. They're available for six strobe brands including: Elinchrom (full size), Elinchrom Q-Mount, Profoto OCF, Bowens S-Mount, AlienBee, Balcar, and Broncolor.
